Hey, there, #CustomerLove-rs!
How is it going?
- Your biz.
- Your challenge.
- Life in general.
For me, it’s been a week of transition. Mike & Borders officially parted company as of Sunday, April 17th. Overall, this is a good thing, and I wish them well in their reworkings. It has been a time to move forward and to embrace our new lives, which inevitably means moments of looking back and thinking ‘what if?’.
How about you? Tell me about your week in the comments. How has it gone for you, both inside and outside of the Challeenge?
The Challenge
LaVonneEllis -When you start to doubt yourself, think, “What do I need to hear right now?” And say that to your people. They need it too. #customerlove

The Fabulous (that’s you!)
- Susan T. Blake’s Captain Curious are raising a whole bunch of Curious Questions and writing a whole lot of fabulous!
- Captains Curious: Become an Explorer of Your World! – Claire Tompkins
- Captains Curious: Curiosity Didn’t Kill the Writer (In Fact, It Helped Her Writing!) – Susan Daffron
- Captains Curious: The Curiousity Revolution – Jenny B. Bones
- And the Lolas dance on:
- One Day You Will Be Heard – Lynn Fang
- Wherein Lola Kicks Ass – Brooke Farmer
- Claire Tompkins does a great job of reclaiming and reframing the notion of self improvement over on Delisa Carnegie’s “The Creativity Rebellion”.
- Claire also has an intriguing multi-person soft sculpture project going, which recently had its opening.
- SilverMagpies has finished her contest and her alphabet! See the results here. (along with some funky jazz)
- SilverMagpies also encounters sarcastic (or is that suspicious?) sheep.
- I keep being struck by this post from Jenny B. Bones about a neat little trick to get us to care for ourselves.
- Those days when you’re feeling like the world is conspiring against you? Susan Daffron puts it in perspective.
- Finally, a bit of beauty from Kirsty Hall. I love the way the art in the jar and its surroundings come together in one harmonious whole.
The Fabulous Offers (from you & for you!)
- Jenny B. Bones, Laura Espinosa, and Lisa Valuyskaya have created wonderousness with a side of whiskers. “The Scaredy Cats Guide to Social Media” gives you guidance, and encourages you to come out of the dark corner of the Internetz where you’ve been hiding. If you loved the free-for-addy awesomeness that is the “Irreverent Guide to Tweeting Blog Posts (Parental Advisory)”, you’ll adore this guide. While not free, at the moment it is, as they put it, “less than the cost of a plate of tuna” at $14.93 and looks to be worth far more than every penny.
- The brain dumps continue, with Claire Tompkins as your guide.
- Deanna Lohnes of ‘Parlance Media LLC’ is offering “15 minute consults/critiques on customerlover’s web copy or blog posts. It would be a ton of fun and great way for me to get to know the other challengers.”
- Phyllis Nichols of ‘SoundAdvice Sales and Marketing’ is offering to “help you change the way you look at your sales process and mindset, and give you actions to implement today!” Fill out the application here to schedule your free 20 minute session.
- From now until May 15th, Jason Moore of ‘I Fell into a Whale’ is having a sale on biz card creation. (And logo design too, should you need it.)
- And ‘ByBloggers’ Jonathan Wondrusch is stepping it up a notch, and inviting you to join him. He is offering to critique your e-book. The catch? It’s public. If you’re up to having a go, go here and fill out the sign-up form.
- Finally, Laura Espinosa’s wondrous Crane project continues onward. Help her help Japan by sponsoring a crane.
Widening the Web
Here are people and organizations who are exemplifying the ideals of #CustomerLove, tho’ they are not formally in the challenge.
- In Hokkaido, Japan, the Hokkaido Guide Dogs Association has opened a shelter for retired guide dogs. What a wonderful way to help those who have spent their lives helping others. (via The Daily Tail)
- The Chantey Cabin is a great example of showing CustomerLove. From their excellent customer service, which I have been privileged to experience first-hand, to their free radio show “Scuttlebutt Radio”, their passion for the world of sea songs shines through everything they do.
Over to you!
Who have you found that shows the qualities of an awesometastic #CustomerLover, but for whatever reason is not part of the Challenge?
Let me know, either in the comments or by Tweet at EncouragingBird or by e-mail at Birdy at that-fantabulous-site-about-living-a-paranormal-lifestyle crowtarottours dot com.
Flying Away (but not for long!)
That’s it for this time.
Back to creating the fantabulousness! 😀
I’ll catch you on the wing!
Sorry, Birdy – we weren’t able to get a recording of today’s call. 🙁
Ah… that’s a shame.
Brilliant update Birdy! Amazing how you keep track of us all, not to mention those mad, impetuous Lolas 😉
Thank you so much!
A little secret? Sometimes I’m amazed too! :>
Good luck with the transitions. I’m a Borders alum too!
And thank you again. I love these round ups.
Thank you! :>
Hope yours was for happier reasons. 🙂
Good to find the connection! :>
Most welcome! :>
I love doing them. 🙂
