A routine is starting to take shape in my new life, and I kinda like it.
- Wake up with the sun
- Pee in the bucket (because priorities)
- Drive two miles to Lake Murray
- Pick a shady parking spot
- Watch people park and get ready to walk/run/bike around the lake
- Make the bed (i.e., stow the hammock and bedding behind the back seat)
- Brush teeth
- Eat breakfast (yogurt)
- Watch people come back to their cars, dripping with sweat
- Straighten up La Vanne
- Check email, Facebook
- Go for a walk around the lake
- Sit on a bench and watch the ducks fish for Sunday brunch
- Meander back to La Vanne
- Write
Life is sweet.
Later, I will go back to the apartment, pay the bills for November and fix a meal to take along for tonight. I need to clean out the cooler and pack it up while I’m at it, so I can skip the daily apartment stops for a few days. It’s hard to wean myself from the conveniences, but it’s time.
I’m going to start keeping a daily journal here… just short bits like this one, about what I’m seeing and thinking as this rest-of-my life journey begins. Hope you like it.
I’m also planning a more comprehensive, twice-weekly journal that will include photos, videos or audios — some of which will eventually wind up in the memoir I’m planning. I’ll let you know when it’s ready.
Happy trails. 🙂
love this Lavonne… … something almost poetic about this.. x
Poetic, huh? I’ll take it, thanks!
