In Make Customers Love You

I know, that title looks wrong. What happened to Days 6 and 7? Well, kittens, I flaked out.

Short version: Saturday morning, I went on my first grocery shopping trip since getting off the crutches for a broken foot, and spent every last energy cent. I crashed and burned. Gave up on anything productive and went to bed.

Then I got overwhelmed with the idea of creating a roundup of all the wonderful efforts you folks are doing for the Make Customers Love You Challenge. Thank heavens for the lovely and talented @HeavenandEl, who volunteered to gather the information for me, but I still couldn’t face it yesterday. Sometimes, we just need to give ourselves a fresh start, and Monday is a good day for fresh starts. Round-up coming up!

First, some announcements:

  1. In my usual, jump-first-think-later style, I have impulsively decided to offer a free voice coaching teleclass [or webinar, not really sure what the difference is yet] in honor of #customerlove. If you use your voice as part of your business [hello, podcasters, webinar/teleclass leaders, teachers, and pretty much everybody else], you can sign up here: Free Voice Coaching Class. Time, date and other details will be forthcoming shortly.
  2. We have received more offers of guest posts than we can accommodate [although it’s tempting, considering my fear of writing, to let you guys write all my posts for me], so we’ve decided to put together an e-book of those guest posts for you to give away to your customers at the end of the challenge. That will be our gift to you. @DavidCrandall’s specialty is designing beautiful e-books, so I know it’s going to be a class act.
If you’re interested in writing a guest post for the #customerlove challenge, submit your idea on the contact page. Deadline for ideas: Friday, September 10. Deadline for finished posts: Friday, September 17, so we have time to proof, edit and format the e-book before the end of the challenge.
  3. Don’t forget to sign up to get some link love and so everybody knows you’re taking part in the challenge. Then go grab a beautiful badge to put up on your site.
  4. And if I’ve missed mentioning you below, please let me know in the comments so I can fix it!

Tweets with links either to posts about #customerlove or to things people have done for the challenge. Be sure to check these out!

Oh my gosh, how long did it take you to complete that list? And how did I miss seeing about the challenge?

You’re doing fantastic LaVonne – you Go Girl!

Ah, thanks Mel! I didn’t do the work, @HeavenandEl did, but it didn’t seem
to take her very long, thank goodness.

I think you’ve been pretty busy yourself, and I’m sorry I flaked on
following your 31DBBB challenge. I got this idea and just ran with it. It’s
kind of taken over my life, lol!

I wonder where David got that idea to take all of the guest posts and compile into an ebook. I have to say it’s a genius idea :). David and I just spent an hour working on something that I’m sure he’ll tell you about in the next day or so. I think this make your customers love you challenge is absolutely brilliant. Good stuff.

Thank you, Srini, and it’s so good to meet you at last. 🙂 I’ve been wanting
to talk to you about podcasting, actually.

Yes, David is full of genius ideas. I’m so glad we bumped into each other!

LaVonne, having had a foot op myself about 16 weeks ago, I feel your pain! Don’t be too hard on yourself – even just starting this up is such a great idea. Keep going girl!

I totally thought it was a planned break — with the Labor Day weekend, there were very few people around. It makes sense to breath and think about it for a couple of days, both for organizers and the participants. And come up with more great ideas.

Great job everyone participating; loving meeting new people through this challenge!
I’ll be catching up again soon. 🙂
P.S. My later tweets re: days 3 and 4 are missing. No biggie, but I think there were tweets from others around that time too — are a few hours of timeline missing? Did Twitter API eat them?
