In Thoughts

Overwhelmed by a big project [or even a small one]? Take baby steps, that’s the answer.

Break it down into small steps that you can easily do, and tackle just one at a time. Don’t think about the whole picture, just the one step you’re working on. When you finish that, take a break, reward yourself [but not with the rest of the day off, like me!], and then go on to the next one.

Before you know it, you’ve reached the top of the stairs — or finished something big that you didn’t think you could do!

What one baby step will you take right now? Tell us in the comments below, and then hop to it!

You know this advice we happily give other people and then fail to take ourselves! My baby step today was actually quite big – I submitted 3 of my posts to The Unified Tribe people, and (horror!) they're sharing it!!

Whoa, that's great! Which articles? How does that work? Does it cost money to join?

Yes, it's quite expensive actually, but I got in on the $25 for one month price. I think it's then going to be a whopping $67. Because I lost my site with the webhost going AWOL I can't tell you if it's worth it yet, because this is the first time I've used it. I have seen a couple of posts where people have experimented with it and found it very good. Hang on I'll get a link: http://mlmdreamsaver.com/2010/05/the-unified-tr… this was good because she has pictures!!

It works like this: you have to have 5 Reciprocity Points (RP) for each post you submit. You get the points sharing the content of others on the Unified Tribe, and it's easy because there's buttons to click, and all the text is done for you. You can change it if you like though. Then you submit your own content, and wait for others to pick it up. I think there's around 1,500-2,000 members, so it can get lots of exposure.

My baby step today will be to write an article (cringe). For some reason, it is SO hard for me to do those, whereas writing web pages (about getting things done—would you believe it?) doesn't really feel like such a big deal. Go figure.

Thank you for this gentle kick in the butt.

Writing an article doesn't sound like a baby step to me — that's
HUGE. Can you break down the steps so it's not so overwhelming? Listen
to me giving advice like I do it all the time. I am SO struggling with
    this one.

Thanks so much for your comment. Your site looks like there's loads of
helpful info, so I'll definitely be seeing you around. 🙂
