In Make Customers Love You

Sorry this is late. I needed some time to wind down a bit and think about what I wanted to say for the last post of the challenge.

I wrote Sunday that I wished I’d done a few things differently and wanted a do-over. What I meant was that I want to do this AGAIN, which has an entirely different tone. [And we will, don’t worry. :)] Then I realized from the comments on that post that #customerlove was even more successful than I’d hoped.

Marlene Hielema of Image Maven commented:

I got my Digital Camera Buying Guide written and published 2 weeks ago and that was part of my goal to build my list before launching. I had 500+ downloads of the guide and added 40 people to my list, and about 60 new Twitter followers, which put me over 200 on each. So that’s good, as growth had stalled on both.So I launched my second free thing and the paying things are just around the corner… I wouldn’t have got this far without you and David.

Birdy Diamond from An Encouraging Bird said:

While I wasn’t a formal participant this go-round, I did end up participating some by osmosis – making some changes to our blogs, getting some awesome free stuff in the pipeline, and just generally thinking on things in a new way.

And Alison Gresik wrote:

#Customerlove completely changed the momentum of my business. I held a live event, started a blog series, and connected with lots of new people. I started to use Facebook and Twitter in a meaningful way and my followers and email sign-ups grew. (I even recorded a video, but couldn’t post it because I hadn’t checked the sound levels. Live and learn!)

I’m planning a launch soon and I know all of this will pay off.

#Customerlove changed my business too — and my life:

  • It has grown my traffic by a third and Twitter followers by about 100.
  • It introduced me to some wonderful new friends like David Crandall, Abby Kerr and Colin Beveridge.
  • It gave me a chance to meet and interview the amazing Naomi Dunford.
  • It pushed me to finally create and present my voice coaching class.
  • And best of all, it taught me that even though I’ll always be a complete flake, I can trust myself to do what it takes to have a thriving business.

And that is the whole point, after all.

What has the challenge done for you? I’d love to know. ๐Ÿ™‚ Tell me in the comments below.

And then please tweet this post — I’d like to gather as many stories as possible about how the challenge worked out for everybody. Thanks!

So glad to hear you’re doing #customerlove again. I came in when it was about half over and trying to do it in half the time sounded like too much, so I watched from the sidelines.

And you know, unmitigated success is wonderful, but the bits you want to do differently, those are the ones I usually find that I needed to look at from a different perspective. The perspective from the other side of giving it a go. I’m not sure that makes sense written out, but it really worked in my head.

Yay! and Hugs. and Thank you for starting this.

My dear LaVonne, I’m thinking you’re a lot less of a flake than you insist. You might have to change your name!

    Thnx for the mention! ๐Ÿ™‚

The challenge has gotten me thinking in new, more connecting & connected ways. I’m excited to be moving forward. I have hope. I have not only plans, but plans for implementation of the plans.

Re: flakedom. I look at it this way – if Sonia Simone can be where she is, and a self-admitted flake, there is no reason the rest of us flak-ish types can’t do it too! ๐Ÿ™‚

So, when is the next challenge? ๐Ÿ™‚ Would like to know so I can get ready to join in from this first. ๐Ÿ™‚

You are making a whole new definition of “flakes.” Maybe you should go to Kellogg for an affiliate:)

I have the do-over post open in another tab. It’s been there all week waiting for me to add a comment saying that I too am still here and haven’t scattered. What a flake eh ๐Ÿ˜‰

The customer love challenge has been great because I’ve met loads of new friends and learned that I can continue to be my lovely, smiley self and not only will my business survive, better than that, it can thrive.

I was also inspired and warmed by how the supposedly off limits and scary ‘a-listers’ got behind this challenge. Everyone says that they’re just human and us a little further down this track and the way Naomi and James in particular engaged with this has proven that it’s true.

That has the knock on effect of proving that this game is playable by anyone who has the drive, passion and determination to stick with it and find a way.

    Thanks LaVonne. You rock!

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I have open tabs all over the place. They’re
my very inefficient version of a to-do list, lol.

I’m so happy the challenge was so positive for you too. Mind if I use your
comment in the ebook we’re giving away next week?
