In Make Customers Love You

You know how a mama bird encourages her babes to fly when it’s time?

Think of me as your mama, because it’s time and I’m pushing you out of the nest!

These past few months, hanging out here at the Customer Love diner, I’ve noticed something that’s gone unsaid. Something that’s not serving you or your customers and it’s this. . .

It’s easy to get comfortable and ‘hide out’ in this community. Like the mama bird’s nest, there’s a lot of goodness here.

It’s easy to keep pitching your products and services to this community. Birds of a feather flock together (and support each other) and this is the best flock ever!

It’s easy.

And safe.

And loving.

It’s just not necessarily profitable.

Consider the possibility that this loving community has become your comfort zone.

There’s no judgment here so don’t go off squawking in outrage.

It’s just that breakthroughs don’t usually happen in the comfort zone. They happen when you stretch and go beyond where you’d normally go.

They happen when you spread your wings and fly.

If this is your first challenge maybe this IS a stretch for you and that’s awesome. But if you’ve been part of this community for any length of time. . .

Well, consider me your mama nudging you out of the nest to fly.

Come to the edge. We can’t. We’re afraid.

Come to the edge. We can’t. We will fall!

Come to the edge. And they came.

And he pushed them. And they flew.

– Guillaume Apollinaire

It really is time to leave the CL nest and fly, perhaps even soar.

The world is waiting.

You can do this.

How do I know with such certainty?

Because I did it and survived when I started my business almost 10 years ago. It’s scary – in a “tentacles of icy fear running up my spine” kind of way – and I remember it well. Now I know that fear means I’m on the right track.

Anyone with entrepreneurial spirit goes through it. There’s no getting around it.

And it can feel like getting caught between a rock (the aforementioned fear) and a hard place (no customers, no leads, no income).

And just like I know you can fly I also know you know what to do.

You already know. Just like a baby bird.

You know how to fly.

It’s time.

What action will you take to get you out of the nest?

It’s time to launch and whether or not you actually have a product or service ready, take that one action and launch anyway.

Launch yourself and fly.

Thank you for being the surrogate mama bird, Sandi. I know I should be doing the nudging but I just can’t bear to see my chicks go!

10 years of practice nudging my own chicks (clients) out of the nest! But I’ll admit, it takes getting used to!

I’m going to do it. I’m going to launch my ebook. I’m going to jump out of the nest and see what happens.

      Christy,
It takes courage to leave the nest and you have been showing so much in the past few months. Here’s to seeing you soar!

That’s the spirit! We ALL can do it! We might stumble a bit and flail at first, but like those baby birds pretty soon we’ll be flying.

Even the ones that leave pop back in every now and then. 🙂 Doesn’t mean you have to disappear.

Jump – life will catch you.

    Really.
