In Make Customers Love You

This month-long challenge is a challenge. I’m sure you noticed that.

It’s also a thing that is as much about the participants as it is about the challenge itself.

Today, I encourage you to look at your skillset – your superpowers, your special medicine – and notice the places you are strong, so that you can see the places where you need to make space to be loved and supported.

If your superpower is loving people (like me), you may be feeling depleted right around now. You may need to lean into the love of others for a time, so that you rejuvenate that place inside you that the love comes from.

If your superpower is helping people, you may be feeling all helped out. You may need to stop doing and start asking for help for yourself, just for a little while, so that you can rest.

If your superpower is leading people, your feet are probably sore and might be blistering from all the walking and direction-taking. You may need to stop at an oasis, not just for your people to rest, but so you that you can rest as well and soak your toes in the cool water.

Our greatest strengths are also our greatest weaknesses. This is because when our power is activated, we forget that we cannot do it forever – because it feels like we could if we wanted.

Take some time to be good to yourself today. Love yourself, and be gentle with the power you have that makes you so amazing, so that tomorrow you can love your people with even more joy and strength.

Tell us in the comments what your superpower is, so we can support you in finding some rest today.

Rachael you hit the nail on the head this morning.  This month HAS been a challenge!  Its been about learning curves, new projects and putting myself out there in a new way.  I’m feeling depleted.  The new challenge has become about having faith that the hard work will be worth the effort and gathering my energy for the long haul.

That is a really important truth to learn, Anne – that you are capable and able and that you, and what you do, is worth it. I’m so happy you’re realizing that.

Man, you sure are sayin’ it! I’m feeling pretty drained myself. Also trying to decide if I should work my contractor gig for the rest of the month or push on with my website. Tough decisions!

It’s hard, I know. Let me know if you need some time to talk through your decisions, if you think that would help.

This is oh so true Rachael!
Currently it’s happening to me everyday: I work on a design element for many hours (all while being disturbed by a bunch of inevitable events,) and at some point, you hear “Plulp!”; something gets broken in your head, that means I’m super tired and need some rest.

Well, in those moments where you know you can’t produce anything else than what you did for the day, you know that tomorrow is another day and that you’ll have the energy to continue the story, whatever your project/job is.

I wish you a lot of rest and a lot of energy in your projects!

Oh thank goodness it’s not just me! My superpowers are loving and including people and helping them shine. And I feel exhausted and dull right now. I keep wanting someone to hold me and hear me out. Thanks for asking, good to articulate Elfi!

Definitely! We have to take care of ourselves as well as our customers, or we’ll burn out.

My superpower is loving & helping people. Whew! I’ve been taking this week easy, though.

That’s great! Taking it easy is always a good idea when you’ve been working so hard.

Rachael – you always come to the table with all of you, genuine, vulnerable, real. I appreciate that so much.
