In Customerlove for Japan

Like you, I’ve been watching the earthquake/tsunami news in Japan with a sense of helplessness – and guilt, because I know I should do more than donate a few bucks.

I felt that way about the earthquake in Haiti, too, and I found a solution by subscribing to Doctors Without Borders for a small amount per month. That way, I can give far more over time than I could afford to donate in one go.

But thanks to #customerlove, I can do more than that now.

Customerlove is about Love, after all – and not just for the people we hope will buy our products and services. Love can’t be limited like that. Once you start to love, you can’t stop at some invisible line – there is no line. And when you love someone, you have to help them when they need it.

I know you agree with me, and I know you want to help. You may have already donated to a relief organization, and that’s wonderful. But I think that together, we can do much, much more – through #customerlove. My idea is this:

Let’s show our love by using the April challenge to help the earthquake/tsunami victims in Japan.

Here are a couple of thoughts:

  • As you go about your challenge of loving your customers like crazy, when they say, “How can I thank you?”, send them to the Customer Love Japan page that I will set up.
  • Donate a percentage of what you get when you launch your product or service at the end of the challenge.

I’m sure you can think of way more ideas, so how about we brainstorm during the Tuesday tweetchat? Or tell me what you think in the comments below.

Let’s see what the Power of Love can do!

So glad you think so, Sandi! I think #customerlove is the perfect way to combine forces and use that synergy to exponentially multiply what each of us could do by ourselves.

Yes!! I’m going to donate 20% of each purchase from my launch to Shelterbox, who is currently helping out Japan earthquake victims. Hoping I can be around to brainstorm during the tweetchat!
