The pieces are coming together so I can hit the road at last — hopefully tomorrow. #fingerscrossed
I’ll be headed for Quartzsite, Arizona where my vandwelling friends are gathering for the winter. They’ll help me set up La Vanne with solar power and batteries, as well as teach me how to boondock (no hookups) out in the desert. I hope they have some good tips about getting through cold nights — last night was no fun.
Lots to do today — more later!

Congrats!!! So exciting!
Do you know how you all deal with poo in the dessert? And, if there are environmental considerations?
Ah, finally someone asks the question everyone wants to know.
Answer: It depends. Some people use the many ‘dump stations’ available… some are free, some are not. Others sneak their poo into public restrooms and flush. Others bury it. And some, I’m not saying who, leave little gifts in whatever ‘dump’ster or trash can they come across — the rationale being that if it’s good enough for millions of babies (diapers), it’s good enough for a few vandwellers.
TMI?
Haha (depends). I can see you’ve done your research.
Ewww. So vandwellers get to handle their excrement on a regular (har) basis. This could either be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your point of view.
Let’s just call it a *maturing* experience, Laila. :p
Bon Voyage! Have fun!
Thanks, Lynn!

Thanks, Yolanda – yes, I love Roadtrippers!
I may be delayed a day or two, dammit. Lost the paperwork for the van. 🙁
