Sorry I’m so late with today’s pos!t. There is so much to do in this online business stuff, isn’t there?
There’s setting up a blog, making it look nice, writing valuable content, making sure there are calls to action in all the right places, interacting on social media, creating ebooks or courses, and figuring out how to get people to buy them. Not to mention reading other blogs and ebooks and forums, and taking courses and webinars and teleseminars, and going to tweetchats and calls – did I miss anything?
Oh yeah – challenges: #customerlove, #nanowrimo, #contentpalooza, and plenty more. Holy crap, no wonder you’re overwhelmed. I feel guilty for adding to the load.
Is this any way to run a business – or live a life?
Not if you are so busy running around trying to do it all that nothing productive, profitable, or even healthy is actually getting done.
In last week’s Customer Love call, life coach Sandi Amorim talked about writing down a list of all the things she was tolerating in her business, things she was doing that she didn’t want to do or even hated. She started eliminating them, one by one, and there was suddenly room for what she loved to enter her life and business – and lo and behold, it did.
I want you to stop right now and take inventory.
Tell me in the comments below: Are you happy with the way things are? Is what you’re doing getting the desired results? What are you tolerating?
Get rid of it! Make room for something good.
p.s. Got a special bonus treat for you – Colin Beveridge and Kathleen Craig had their first Acceleration Workshop today – and spotlighted a very talented musician and guitar teacher, Chris Bucklen – who just happens to be my #1 son, yay!

One of my first mentors said it this way, “Your life (and business) is made up of whatever you’re tolerating.” Shocking to hear it so bluntly, but when I actually sat down and made the list I got what he meant. I still do that exercise whenever I want to cause a shift, most recently last month. I was immediately reminded that it works to, one-by-one, start clearing those tolerations from your life.
Not necessarily easy, but so worth the effort.
It’s a great exercise, Sandi – thanks for sharing it with me!
