In Thoughts

Not much to report today, hopefully that means everyone is busy launching their stuff! So I guess this will simply be mindless motivational blabber. I know how to do that.

Handled

All right – let’s get this out of the way right off the bat: I had a nice little chat with LaVonne earlier on Skype. Well, she didn’t exactly end up interviewing me, The Floor Elf, she interviewed my non-interesting alter-ego, Roger. He’s the one without the personality.

I’m not sure how that happened. I fully intended to show up for the interview, but LaVonne cut right through all that and made me talk about stuff that made sense.

I was handled.

She is very good at what she does. So if you want to listen to something that may actually make sense (not much, it’s still me), give it a listen, she’ll have it up here sometime soon. She still needs to edit the cotton balls out of my mouth. I know you want to hear what kind of maniac is behind the elf.

The End

This is it! The end of this round of Customer Love. No more.

And if you’re thinking about it like that, you may have missed the whole point. Something no one has pointed out is this: If you continue to do what got you to this point your project will continue to build.

This is not the end of Customer Love, it is only the end of the process that taught you how to utilize it. All the tools that have been made available to you through the posts here, the whole idea behind customer love and the process to utilize them, are not going anywhere. They will, in fact, grow and more things will become available. Continue to check out the forum here – I’ll be around there every day (night). If you need help with something I don’t know, I’ll know where to send you, just ask.

Continue to do the things you’ve done this month! Don’t stop engaging or helping out just because this round is over. Another round will begin in February and it’s gonna be EPIC! (I know I say that a lot, but this time it’s true.) If you do continue to do this, just think about everything you’ve accomplished this month — now multiply that by three. By the beginning of the next challenge, that is what you will accomplish. See? Epic.

The Beginning

When I did the first customer love challenge, I thought it would be a 30-day deal, then it’s over. I realized toward the end that it wasn’t — the customer love process was a shift in mindset. It was a process that taught me how to engage with people in a manner I never have. It is an ongoing process which helps you build your business.

Whether your business is virtual or not, this process is effective. Get in front of people — help them out. I know my situation and business are different than everyone else’s, but it still applies. It’s branding your business. Make everyone know who you are. My technique is definitely not going to work for everyone — I’m lucky. But the idea is the same — let them know who you are — or at least who your alter-ego is.

Need proof? How much have you done in the last 30 days? How much have you learned? How many people have you engaged with that you never knew existed 30 days ago? Yes, even you lurkers (Tori, Sandi, Phyllis, Alisha – we see you). When did you have your ‘Aha!’ moment? The one where you thought to yourself ‘Hey, I could do that with…”?

That rarely happens without other people.

Right on the head, Roger. From Day 1 of this challenge I felt the shift in perspective. It’s huge, and there’s no going back.

I will miss the regular blog posts here, but I’m looking forward to February! (Hmmm… I wonder what I’ll be launching then!)

      Hey Melissa,

It is a huge shift – definitely for the better. Come on back whenever you need the motivation and read a random post – there are about 60 of them! Or just post to the forum, I’m a fairly good lurker, I’ll be around.

      Good luck with the TAP!

Changing never has a last day, I can’t tell you of the monumental shift in my whole perspective when I started this journey. The scariest thing was it wasn’t even deliberate it was as if by just reading and getting inspired changed me from the inside out.

So thank you for introducing me to a new way of being.

I’ve enjoyed the customer love part so much, I won’t stop doing it now – it’s too much fun! Having found all the other fantastic people in the challenge was a big bonus surprise too. I’m thinking ahead to new projects and how to go further.

Endings & Beginnings – wondrously wise point! :>

Will indeed be keeping the energy & the connections I’ve made in this go-round going.

Looking forward to your columns in February (and maybe even in between! :>)
